For independent restaurants in England and Wales
Your food safety diary, digital and in your own language.
Sensors watch your fridges day and night.
Pomfy puts your food safety diary on phone, tablet and computer. Your team ticks checks in its own language, and when the inspector arrives everything is on one screen, in English.
Sound familiar?
Keeping records is the law. Keeping them on paper is hard.
Every food business in the UK must keep food safety records. Most independent restaurants do it by hand, in the printed SFBB pack.
The pack is in English, end to end
Kitchens work in Turkish, Kurdish, Urdu. The rules go unread and boxes get ticked at random.
The diary gets forgotten on busy days
On busy days the diary stays blank, and a blank page counts as a missing record at inspection.
Inspectors turn up unannounced
Diary, training records, supplier list and allergen information all live in different places, and you need them all at once.
Sensor monitoring
Did someone leave the fridge door open? Stop wondering.
A door is left ajar overnight or a fridge fails, nobody notices, and in the morning the stock goes in the bin. Pomfy's sensors watch your fridges day and night and send a notification to your phone when the temperature starts to climb, even when the app is closed, so you can act before food spoils.

What Pomfy is
Safer Food, Better Business has two parts. Pomfy covers both.
Safer Food, Better Business (SFBB), the FSA's food safety pack for small businesses, has two parts: the safe methods, where you write down once how your kitchen works, and the diary, filled in at opening and closing every day. Pomfy brings both into digital form, in the same order.

Cross-contamination › Personal Hygiene and Fitness to Work Personalised
1. Are all staff trained to wash their hands before preparing food?
2. Do your staff wear clean work clothes?
3. Describe your staff's work clothes
4. Do staff keep hair tied back?
Drag the line in the middle left or right.
Pomfy →The result: the same diary, but complete, signed and in your team's own language.
Take the tour
All your kitchen records, in one app.
Eight screens cover every page of the SFBB pack, changing one after another; click a screen to enlarge it. Screens are shown in Turkish; the app also runs in English and Kurdish.

Every day of the diary, line by line.
- Opening, service and closing checks as separate lines, with who ticked them and when.
- If something goes wrong you note what happened and what you did, and add a photo. The responsible person signs at close.
- Prove It (probe temperature) records, the 4-weekly review and emergency numbers on the same screen.
- Missed days are flagged with their dates. A day added later is marked "late entry" with the time it was entered, and shows in the report.

What's next: AI, invoices and new languages.
These are features on our development plan. They are not in the app yet.
AI pre-inspection from a photo
Take a photo of your kitchen. AI flags hygiene issues against FSA guidance so you see them before the inspector does.
Receipts and invoices
Photograph a delivery receipt and the product, quantity and date fill themselves in for you to confirm. Invoices collected in one place, ready for your accountant.
New languages
Urdu, Bengali and Chinese are on the way, so everyone on the team sees their rules and tasks in their own language.
Questions
Things you might be wondering.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Nothing is lost. You can keep ticking checks without internet, and everything is saved automatically when it comes back. Sensors keep measuring your fridges too. On top of that, your report is saved to your computer automatically every evening and refreshed daily, so even without internet you can open it on your computer when the inspector arrives.
My staff aren't good with technology. Can they use it?
Screens use plain language and large tick boxes. Everyone sees the app in their own language and tasks are short and clear. We show your team how it works when we install it.
Do inspectors accept digital records?
The FSA's Safer Food, Better Business page says the diary can be filled in and stored electronically. Inspectors look at whether records are accurate and followed, not at their format. Pomfy keeps your records in the SFBB pack's own structure, with date, time and signature. When the inspector arrives you open the EHO View and show every record on one screen, neatly organised. As always, the assessment is the inspector's; Pomfy makes sure your records are complete and easy to show. gov.uk ↗
What if a sensor breaks?
We replace it free of charge. If a sensor loses its connection the app tells you, so a broken sensor never goes unnoticed.
Is my data safe?
Data is held on UK servers (Microsoft Azure, UK South). Records on the device are encrypted. Records can't be altered: a correction is added as a new record next to the original. Your records are kept for as long as you subscribe, and if you leave you get them all as a PDF.
